ABSTRACT
Kidsa barnehager is the largest private kindergarten in Bergen, with almost 600 employees and more than 2,000 children divided between 28 individual kindergartens in Bergen. Circle of Security is an evidence-based programme and an easy-to-use model of association, child development and behaviour, which helps to secure the relationship between parents and children. It is a tool for analysing children’s behaviors, needs and feelings and for increasing carers’ understanding of the signals the children send out as their needs. The Cooperation Committee is an advisory, contact-building and coordinating body and consists of parents/carers and employees in kindergarten. The Circle of Security model is used all over the world to help children become safer and to develop good self-regulation and social skills and thereby prevent challenges to development. The security circle is used worldwide to help children in the one- to six-year-old age groups to become safer through development of good self-regulation and social skills.
