ABSTRACT

This chapter is focused on the growing demand for collaborations to meet the needs of diverse communities and populations as they relate to a variety of health and social conditions. National and international literature will be discussed that focuses on what has been published about partnership development, function, and outcomes. Findings from the literature will be discussed regarding what has been identified across the literature and what are considered best practices. The gaps in the literature will be discussed as a foundation for the chapters to follow. An overview of the book will be provided and a presentation of how the book can add a new dimension to the knowledge that serves as a foundation for future development of successful collaborative partnerships focused on health and quality of life.
