ABSTRACT
This chapter situates the BCIM-EC within the overall OBOR framework and examines its implications for India. It explains as to how the twin projects of SREB and MSR will bear huge geo-economic and geo-political gains for China. Further, it unveils as to how BCIM-EC will enable China to have the strategic advantage vis-à-vis India by way of bringing an end to the idea of centrality of India in Indian Ocean.
It views BCIM-EC as the final nail in Chinese policy towards strategic encirclement of India.
