ABSTRACT
This chapter provides the Chinese perspective on BCIM-EC. It argues that all the participating countries will benefit from the corridor as it will be the carrier of growth from China to South Asia and Myanmar where lack of infrastructure has undermined the potential for economic development. Construction of BCIM-EC could give full play to the region’s geographical advantages, speed up the construction of regional international passageway and improve the regional traffic conditions.
