ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the nature of human needs and finds the connection between our brains and needs satisfaction. It focuses on the community as the ‘natural’ human aggregation; on the state, where most human beings attempt to pursue the satisfaction of their needs. The chapter suggests that needs-propelled human behaviour is causing the state to fade away and is shaping a future global order that can be more responsive to the needs of human beings. Food is a human need not because mothers inculcate in their new-boms an interest in eating, not because it is customary to eat, or not because one thinks eating is a good idea, but because the organism requires food. The foundation of the human brain is the neural chassis and parts of the mid-brain. A community is an aggregation of human beings as sources of resources to satisfy psychological needs, whose sights and sounds are familiar to each other.
