ABSTRACT
In this introductory chapter, the editor presents a challenge to increase involvement and community cohesion in relation to improving our statistics teaching. Following, he summarizes the book and discusses past efforts at teaching reform. Then he reviews the 17 substantive chapters in this edited book. He concludes with a list of 10 pieces of advice for those teaching introductory statistics and quantitative methods courses.
