ABSTRACT

Given a global overview of the National Action Plans (NAPs) already released at global level, the chapter analyses a specific case study related to the implementation by the EU Member States of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), namely the National Action Plan published by the Italian Government in December 2016. The research work is conducted in the light of the existing assessment tools about NAPs on business and human rights and provides an in-depth insight of the strengths and weaknesses of the Italian NAP.
