ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the Frankfurt School’s economic and political interpretations of Nazism, especially the works of Otto Kirchheimer and Franz Neumann. It shows how these scholars’ analysis of the Third Reich was part of an ambitious effort to chart what they believed were capitalism’s most destructive tendencies, especially its destruction of rationalism and law.
