ABSTRACT
The chapter proposes to relate four major topoi from poststructuralist thinking to reflections from the Critical Theory tradition in order to shed some light on the deep affinity between these two styles of thinking: problem of the bounds of sense and language, the problem of the (im)possibility of history and progress, the problem of the entanglement of power and reason, and the problem of the limits and conditions of the subject and consciousness.
