ABSTRACT

In this essay, Alexandrowicz considers the disruptive division often found between acting, voice, and movement as separate, rather than integrated, disciplines. “Tactics and Action Drives: Stanislavski Meets Laban” demonstrates deliberate ways to integrate the work of Rudolph Laban in the acting studio. Alexandrowicz offers practical explorations that enable actors to experience Space, Time, and Weight and to integrate Laban’s Action Drives into their work.
