Inspired by Merleau-Ponty’s thoughts on the chiasm and with a performative approach, the storyteller explores how multimodal, embodied-verbal storytelling for the youngest children is characterized by the pendulating movement between touching and being touched. In the artistic exploration, the storyteller recognizes that her bodily expressive storytelling contains an element of reluctance and habits that need to be confronted and overcome in order to make new experiences and new knowledge available to her as storyteller for toddlers.
