ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the workshop at ‘Belgirate V, Doing the Business of Group Relations Conferences: Un/Conscious Dynamics, Systems and Ethics’ on 8 November 2015. It presents our individual personal journeys in the group relations world in an attempt to be transparent about our potential biases. The Tragedy of the Commons has been highly influential in disciplines such as ecology, health care, economics, political sciences, psychology and sociology among others, but also has been criticized as oversimplified. Running an experiential activity is challenging and stimulating, yet, if the activity is not planned thoroughly enough, the process can be really stressful. Reflecting on the title of the Belgirate V Conference ‘Doing the Business of Group Relations Conferences’ elicited many associations such as the phantasy that the market will solve everything.
