ABSTRACT

The conference organizers of Belgirate 2015 invited the authors to convene the three morning reflections, dreams and associations sessions at the conference. Morning reflections, dreams and associations has been part of the tradition of the Belgirate conferences and they supplement the rich diversity of thinking stimulated by the formal conference events – plenaries, introduction in groups, keynote presentations, exploratory event and parallel presentations. Dream content included hearing the screams of children in a maternity ward on the top floor of a building in another Italian city, Venice; a house in which two children say that an older man can be in touch with feelings and relationships. There are ‘happy dreams’ that lead to the enchanting discovery of ‘ambiguity’ and the duality of human nature. A cluster of dreams centre on incense, nightclubs, dancing, food, guided tours, the war and a pile of water leaves.
