ABSTRACT

This chapter relates an original approach to the study of A Memoir of the future consisting in grasping, through a group experience of reading, re-writing and reciting, depth and chiaroscuro otherwise precluded to linear understanding through the individual reading. The capacity of the negative taught us to wait for Godot accepting the “absolute non-understanding of anything” as a mental state of incommunicability that becomes paradox and even language to communicate itself. “A Memoir of the Future” is a play for the theater. The scene in which it takes place is an invaded nation, my body, my group of friends, different moments of my growth, the borders of my mind, all rolled into one. The actors play as invaders and invaded, as real or virtual characters, as my organs, as my ways of development, as my thoughts and emotions. Their interaction is similar to the psychoanalytic operation that constructed parts of my mind.
