ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the ways in which our current thinking about leadership may contribute to producing and maintaining racialized dynamics, and identifies a set of core competencies associated with equity-focused leadership needed to advance an inclusive society. Recommendations are included for ways to develop and support these competencies. This chapter does not seek to address all positive leadership competencies, but rather to highlight some particular capacities and practices that can further equity, diversity, and inclusion in organizations, communities, and the broader society.
