ABSTRACT

The Matrik project in Krakow, for example, includes among its objectives the development of advanced trainer/consultant skills and is designed to raise awareness of the value of process consultancy skills, not only to trainers but also to Polish managers. Most wanted to modernize their existing technical knowledge and accepted the trainer training element as the ‘entry price’ to new knowledge and teaching materials. Students complete a questionnaire at the end of each course component, giving them the opportunity to assess the value of the knowledge gained, the quality of materials used and the presentations given. Most of the teaching was undertaken by staff drawn from the banking sector in Poland and Britain who had the right levels of knowledge and presentational skills. Development of competition in the market created a situation in which the professional manager needed greater knowledge and skills.
