ABSTRACT

Little information had been collected, beyond anecdotal evidence, as to the effectiveness of the training which the regional management centre (RMC), in collaboration with their British counterparts, were providing. Information on career progression, perceptions of the courses attended and potential opportunities for future training/professional development was seen as valuable to the RMCs in their future development. The research involved the use of two postal questionnaires, one sent to past participants of RMC courses, and the other sent to a sample of employers who had sent employees on RMC-run courses. The moves by RMCs to create Alumni associations should build upon the finding and proactively utilize past students to promote the courses to others within their respective organizations. As both foreign and Polish organizations began to fill the training gap, a plethora of different qualifications and courses developed in a rather unstructured manner.
