ABSTRACT

In the summer of 2013, the manager for Project Arianna of the municipality of Genoa, a project for children, teenagers and abused women, contacted me, as the president of the Psychoanalytic Centre of Genoa. The manager is also the founder of the working network Amaltea, which includes the main city hospitals, the public prosecutor's offices at the ordinary and juvenile courts and the social policies office of the municipality of Genoa. In September 2014, some psychoanalysts of the Psychoanalytic Centre of Genoa – who, in turn, had set up a group – made this instrument available to the caregivers involved at different levels with mistreatment and abuse. The same psychoanalysts who were involved in the caregivers' groups made a group experience of their own under the leadership of a colleague from another centre, an expert in groups and organisations.
