ABSTRACT
Playwork was engaged in service delivery, professional development and in the establishment of related policy initiatives. The Play Cycle is essentially a feedback loop. Through a formalising motif of certain positions (stations), it describes both the internalised stadial processing of playing and, in symbiotic relationship, the position of the playworker in that operative engagement. Neoclassic economics will be dethroned if and when satisficing theory and psychology join forces to produce a simple and robust explanation aspirational levels, or sociological theory comes up with and robust theory of relation between social norms and instrumental rationality. No single form of organisation is ‘good’ for all circumstances and events. Any particular organisational or institutional form has certain capabilities and is subject to specific sources of weakness or failure. Given the problem of institutional weaknesses by continuously adapting adjusting the organ-isational patterns, in function of shifting circumstances and preferences, is essential.
