ABSTRACT

Groups of people discussing similar work or working on a project together might break down some of the barriers to frankness, but it all costs. Participants should be given projects that are major business problems — simple problems involving tedious clerical work will not train future senior managers. David Pearce indicated some of the other possible participants and some of the proposed projects to be matched against them. Participants also asked for lectures on a variety of specialized subjects such as accountancy and project management. GEC announced that management training was respectable and set some ideas moving on the subject. Participants should be given projects that are major business problems — simple problems involving tedious clerical work will not train future senior managers. They must also be important problems for the clients, so that they are determined to get them fixed.
