ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a brief overview of the developmental characteristics and developmental considerations of young children with social-emotional learning (SEL) difficulties that place them at risk for the development of emotional behavior disorders. We also provide an integrative review of evidence-based preventive interventions and practices designed to ameliorate SEL delays and behavioral concerns of young children. Finally, we propose considerations for further research and practice to prevent and ameliorate SEL difficulties.
