ABSTRACT

The development and implementation of research is an essential and inspiring undertaking within any evidence-based field. Within behavior analysis, it is among our greatest responsibilities to ensure that research activities maintain a high level of integrity. In this chapter, we will review the responsibilities of the behavior analytic researcher within the context of the planning and completion of a study. Legal and ethical concerns will be discussed, including the importance of maintaining the safety and dignity of participants and maintaining confidentiality. This chapter also includes an interview with behavior analyst Yulema Cruz.
