ABSTRACT

In the ethical practice of behavior analysis, the behavior analyst must be responsible. In this chapter, we will review Section 1 of the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code® and provide explanations of the Code elements, which address topics such as multiple relationships, working within the boundaries of our professional competence, and maintaining integrity. We will also describe considerations in the attempt to adhere to each Code elements as well as examples from clinical practice. In this chapter, Bobby Newman will also offer his perspective on gift-giving in ethical practice of behavior analysis.
