ABSTRACT

When working as a behavior analyst, the most essential of our ethical obligations are those responsibilities to clients. Section 2 of the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts® addresses ethical practice and the behavior analyst’s responsibility to clients. This chapter addresses issues including the selection of clients, confidentiality, and clients’ rights. For each Code element, explanations, considerations for compliance with this element, and examples are provided. In this chapter, self-advocate Archibald Brechin offers a reflection on the behavior analyst’s responsibility to clients.
