ABSTRACT

This chapter locates Australian social work field education internationally. It is useful for countries to position themselves globally to enable learning from one another’s innovations and challenges, even though models are contextually dependent. In this chapter similarities and differences across countries are examined in terms of the framework of analysis introduced in Chapter 1. The chapter concludes with the lessons learnt about bringing stakeholders together to collaboratively find solutions to the challenges facing social work field education. In Australia this collaborative response has been the formation of a National Field Education Network.
