ABSTRACT

This contribution will offer an analysis of the intersectional arguments surrounding how the gendered discourse of genocide relates to sex/gender binaries and ideological concepts of hetero-nationality. By examining post-modern acts of genocidal threats and practises towards LGBT+ communities (i.e. Chechnya, Iran, Nazi Germany, etc.), it will be argued that political homophobia and transphobia reinforce masculinist authorities and hetero-nationality. Further, the motivations for social, political, and media neglect of LGBT+ genocide will be examined alongside theoretical arguments relating to LGBT+ genocidal ideologies.
