A Mother and Grandmother Come Together as Caregivers

In this chapter, a mother and grandmother of an adolescent with multiple disabilities reconnect with one of the authors. Together they reflect on a conversation that was inspired by an assignment completed when the mother was the author’s student in a class on building partnerships with families of children with disabilities. In telling their story, they trace their experiences, reflect on their feelings, and discuss their shared roles as caregivers.
