ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a summary of the themes that run through each of the families’ stories. It highlights the impressive array of family strengths and resources that emerge as families work to meet their unique challenges. It offers families’ advice for working together, advocating for children, and building reciprocal partnerships with professionals. Discussion focuses on the ways that these family stories resonate with research from the field and present enduring lessons for teacher educators, teacher education students, and practitioners.
