Looking at both narrative and metaphor in education

This introductory chapter places the current book in the context of earlier projects on narrative and metaphor in medicine, politics and the law. All these projects draw on insights which stem from the claims made for narrative and metaphor as primary cognitive instruments nearly 40 years ago.
