ABSTRACT

The catalogue database is at the heart of the BookshelF system. It can be purchased as a stand-alone module if a library requires only bibliographic, indexing and enquiry functions. The Acquisitions and Circulation modules, however, are dependent on the Catalogue module, although these can be ‘added on’ at a later date. The relational nature of the system allows these three modules to be fully integrated and reference to features of other modules will be made in this chapter where appropriate.
