ABSTRACT

The scope of the Task Manager is not to support a particular asynchronous Computer Supported Cooperative Work application, but to provide general means for scheduling and coordination of co–operative activities, and for progress monitoring. The rationale for integrating meeting support into the Task Manager is because of the multiple connections between tasks and meetings within the context of distributed work management. Integrating an organizatioal browser develops by one of EuroCoOp partners, the Task Manager allows for information about oganizational structures and personal skills to choose people appropriate to participate in a task. The Task Manager allows for flexible, distributed task management based on asynchronous communication. In contrast to electronic meeting support developments like on–line support for meetings itself is not the topic of approach. A user requirement which forms the basis for attempt to support meetings by the Task Manager is that task management and meeting support should be integrates, at least at the user interface level.
