ABSTRACT

This chapter draws on and updates a research project on the education and training needs of young single male refugees in London, which was carried out by staff of the City Parochial Foundation, a London-based grant-making charitable trust. 1 The project also examined the wider experience of flight as encountered by those interviewed. It found that the needs of young male refugees were neglected as services for refugees, such as the provision of advice or accommodation, tended to be targeted at families and single women, as the most vulnerable refugee groups.
