ABSTRACT
The historical background of the controversial literature between Christianity and Judaism is always more or less violent (distinctive signs, ostracisation, persecutions, expulsions). However, this does not always show through in the contents and the tonality of these texts. Based on this particular case, this chapter raises the following question: Can a religious debate, with all its implications, be completely devoid of violence or incitement to violence?
