ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book outlines the interconnected nature of macro talent management (MTM) environment, processes, and outcomes that in their entirety encompass an intricate world of a country's global talent management (GTM) system. The contributors–focusing on countries of their expertise– will help both illustrate the importance of the topic and fill the gap in knowledge about GTM systems and outcomes in different nations. The nations are: Russia; Poland; China; India; Argentina; Singapore; United Arab Emirates. The book analyzes how the issue of migration acts as a cross-cutting macro environmental theme that links together talent mobility, global labour markets, and the role of diaspora and returnees. It examines the factors that encourage individuals to migrate to and from a particular location.
