ABSTRACT
Mr. A as an adolescent began to indulge himself heavily in pot to the extent that he became a dealer, never mentioning his activity to his parents. Ralph penis would often do sadistic things to animals, with which Mr. A would assist or of which he would be an approving audience, the most vivid being setting a chicken on fire. During adolescence Mr. A also had an experience with a dentist to whom his mother took him regularly and this figured frequently at the beginning of treatment. Mr. A evinced the desire to have a relationship with a woman, the only sexual relationship he could recall at the beginning of treatment involved one with his cousin, of whom he was very fond. Mr. A's fear of and identification with his mother were monumental. He saw her as powerful and frightening. She personified his superego and he could not interact with anyone without hearing his mother's disapproval inside himself.
