ABSTRACT

This chapter describes a project that took place in a nursery school in an impoverished district of Naples in southern Italy. The nursery school teachers took part in a workshop based around the creative recycling of waste materials. The chapter also describes the context—how the project was structured, the characteristics of the staff group, and the nature of the activities offered. It focuses on the work that went into staff training, which included a fortnightly supervision seminar. The chapter discusses some clinical examples in order to illustrate more vividly the reflective process the supervision seminar sought to develop. These words beautifully describe the challenge of “Fox’s Earth”, and of similar projects, that under different skies unite professionals committed to creating conditions in which the full potential of an educational experience can flourish, promoting in a meaningful way the growth of children, families, and professionals alike.
