ABSTRACT

Johannes was admitted to our children’s ward at the age of 10 because of aggressive outbursts both at school and at home, at times combined with very brutal behaviour. At home, his parents said, he threw temper tantrums when he was forbidden to do something or experienced disappointment, and also destroyed things in the process. The relationship between Johannes and his stepfather was very tense on both sides, they said. There was pronounced sibling rivalry towards his half-brothers, who were seven and nine years younger than Johannes, and he repeatedly treated them very aggressively. He had violent quarrels with his mother, and had also stolen quite large sums of money. At school, the situation had become so bad that Johannes was about to be expelled.
