ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author draws on his personal experience in trying to illustrate what he mean. Since writing the paper "The Location of Cultural Experience" the author have gradually come to an unexpected need for something corresponding to the cultural experience but located inside instead of outside. It is perhaps worth recording that he found himself very much needing to sleep sitting on the floor in his room facing the dark end of the room. In the dream that was very intensely occupying him during his sleep he was having an experience in an area that he calls his club. He remembered the time when he was dreaming and he went down towards the south coast and there discovered, probably amongst the hills of the south downs, a large house which seemed to be empty or at any rate not accessible to him.
