ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the case study of a ten-year-old girl Silvia. It focuses on the first year of treatment, with three weekly sessions, of a ten-year-old girl, Silvia. She has two sisters, who are eight and six years old. When she was eight years old Silvia suffered a serious domestic accident, when her mother was absent and she was at her grandparents' house together with her sisters. In treatment, Silvia is showing needs that are primitive and her affective investment is huge. She shows her need of good nourishment and is asking the analyst for it. Silvia stops eating and loses weight to a point where she almost eliminates her feminine body. At the end of the session Silvia appears to be happy about her painting and relieved. Silvia probably needed the analyst to physically touch this feeling, not only through her stories.
