ABSTRACT

“Eleogenetics” consists in the study of processes creating and facilitating the “epiphany” of mercy. Eleogenetics approaches mercy with a socio-psychological and a systemic cut, arguing that mercy is crucial, so that relational processes do not smother the autonomy and the reality of communities and individuals intended as subjects. Eleogenetic practices are future-oriented and trigger epiphanies of Goodness, Beauty and Truth in original and unpredictable forms. Eleogenetics claims that the more people are honest in approaching reality, the more the processes they are part of will have eleogenetic outcomes. The official debut of Eleogenetics was in an extra-clinical context and emphasized the radically different effects of being “person oriented” instead of “problem oriented”. However, Eleogenetics has found applications mainly in fields connected to the professional activity of its originator. The establishment of a Scientific Committee and the interest coming from different fields of study makes likely an expansion in different directions in the short term.
