The following summary of the laws of various African countries is intended as a guide to the nature and scope of the legislation, with references to facilitate consultation of the originals. As classification and method of arrangement vary widely with the governments concerned, each section has been drawn up so as to accord mainly with local practice; the principal features have been presented under suitable headings, in order to simplify reference.
