ABSTRACT
This section will include an array of architectural solutions to new manufacturing organizational systems and changing management of the factory floor. The design solutions to mixed manufacturing and the typologies of production are presented as a way to serve as models for the future architecture of these spaces in the new economy and Industry 4.0. The essays and case studies in this section will show how industrial and architectural design systems can accommodate urban manufacturing, from the scale of the workstation, to the scale of a building focusing on both the formal and informal spaces for production.
