Satire and the Bibliomania in Early Nineteenth-Century Britain

This chapter surveys satirical responses to bibliomania in early nineteenth-century Britain and contributes to our understanding of the ‘book fever’ by considering the satirical treatment in discourse created by bibliomanes themselves in the self-referential and congratulatory verse circulating within their circle.
