Nationalist ideology, militarization and human rights in the Northeast 1

Militarization of a region in whatever pretext is antithetical to both democratic principles and practices. Continued militarization of Northeast India has given negative impact not only to the ordinary common lives in the region, but also adversely affected India’s national and international politics. The challenge is to respect and ensure practice of multi-ethnic and multi-cultural lives in the whole of South Asia.
