ABSTRACT
In the larger discourse of nationalizing movements and its politics of exclusivism, what is left out is the plight of the women, making the national narrative highly masculine. Women, embedded in their historical experience of male subjugation, remain outside the fraternal order that fundamentally define the nation as it exists today.
