ABSTRACT

Human beings have conspired to create a living hell for the billions of animals who spend their entire lives in factory farms before they are shipped off to brutal slaughterhouses. From the moment of their births to the moment when they are slaughtered, we terrorize, traumatize, and torture these innocent, sentient individuals. Former United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) worker, Timothy Walker, reported having firsthand knowledge of seeing cattle skinned while they were still alive at Kaplan Industries in Bartow, Florida in 1989. Dave Carney, a former USDA meat inspector and later the chairman of the National Joint Council of Food Inspection Locals, the federal meat inspectors’ union, spoke to former undercover investigator, Gail Eisnitz, with surprising candor. Speaking about large slaughtering operations and the Humane Slaughter Act, Carney said: It’s as if they’re not even killing the animals. They’re disassembling them, processing raw materials in a manufacturing operation.
