ABSTRACT

In the case of "The King of the Ball", Durneen made a few cuts following her editorial instinct that the information did not add to the narrative and looked excessive. The case of Solnes Jonsson shows not only the possibility of editing-as-retrieval, but also how several editors can work in symbiosis towards the final goal. The King of the Ball was a normal looking fellow in a light-colored suit. He had a drink in his hand and smiled a lot but he didn't participate in any of the dialogues and was mostly seen in the background or in panoramic shots of the party.
