ABSTRACT
The conversation pairs Sarah Brin and Adriel Luis to discuss agency, expertise, play, trust and institutional change, both inside the traditional museum context and beyond, contrasting American, European and Asian perspectives where possible. Both Sarah Brin (U.S./Denmark) and Adriel Luis (U.S.) joined the museum world via circuitous paths and work in progressive artist, visitor and community-centred ways. This conversation was recorded on January 4, 2018. At the time, Sarah Brin was a curator and PhD Fellow at the IT-Universitetet Kobenhaven in Copenhagen, Denmark and Adriel Luis was Curator of Digital and Emerging Practice at the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center in Washington, DC, U.S.
