ABSTRACT

Campaign plans demonstrate organization and forethought; both are necessary to pull off a win, especially in a close election, and offer comfort for big-money investors, the campaign team, and the candidate. A campaign plan will organize a team so that each of the necessary tasks may be implemented in an orderly and stress-free manner. Done well and rigorously followed, a campaign plan will reduce stress and lighten the load for all involved. Time periods with too much campaign activity become immediately apparent. Although campaign manager will be guided through making a flowchart and should familiarize himself with the process, there are easy how-to programs for both Word and Excel available online. To make a campaign flowchart, the tasks campaign manager needs to complete before the election are listed. These might include canvassing, development and printing of a walking piece, media, phone banks, fundraising, and lawn signs.
