ABSTRACT

Aviation and aerospace medicine and psychology cover a broad multidisciplinary field. In utilizing the correct ethical groundwork, not only can it offer potential ways to evolve healthier results throughout the aviation and aerospace industry. The ethical frameworks in particular are designed to work together with the practice guidelines using life-long career learning, professional practice, and supportive mentoring. Bringing universalized ethical approach to the area of pilot selection, the more rigid rule-based approach where there is a precise defined process that becomes potentially fixated and stuck, the shallower vision of decision-making can lead to substantial harm. One of the key ethical aspects in the psychometric and psychological assessment for pilot selection is to ensure fair and just treatment for the person undergoing the selection process, while properly weighing up the responsibilities and pressures that that he or she will be able to realistically manage.
